Super Bowl weekend is before us. If you happen to enjoy watching football, and you own a big screen TV, chances are you may be having some guests wanting to watch it with you! Or maybe you are going to a Super Bowl party to cheer on your favorite team. Either way, don’t rely on traditional snack foods to get you through the day. We have so many healthy recipes for Super Bowl weekend that are sure to do the trick! Check out my top 3 favorites that I pulled for you to enjoy.
Crispy Rosemary Turnip Fries
When it comes to getting some yummy foods together for the big game, I like to lean towards those comfort foods that make me feel all warm inside. French fries are one of those foods that used to lean on for this. They smell so good but they definitely don’t leave me feeling that way. When I was younger, fries were one of my all time favorite treats! They are so addicting that it is no wonder why I loved them so much. Today I know better than to indulge in fried foods. And my skin is much happier that I don’t :)
Now just because it’s good to stay away from fried foods doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself tasty treats. Try my delicious Crispy Rosemary Turnip Fries! These along with other healthy recipes for Super Bowl weekend are sure to fill your belly with delight. They are so easy to make and they provide a mouth full of yummy flavor without all the yucky feelings from deep frying. My Crispy Turnip Fries are great comfort food and a crowd pleaser. If you are having friends over to watch the Super Bowl, you may even want to double the recipe!
Vegan No-Fry Cauliflower Wings
Here is another one to add to your healthy recipes for Super Bowl weekend. My Vegan No-Fry Cauliflower Hot Wings are an all-time favorite finger food! If you bring these “hot wings” to a Super Bowl party, there is a chance people may even mistake it for meat :) And once they take a bite of these treats they certainly will be pleased that it’s not.
If you’re an avid Beauty Detox reader, you’ve heard me talk about the many fantastic nutrients (including vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and many other phytochemicals), that are contained in cauliflower. Cauliflower is such a powerful vegetable that we all can use a little more. So go ahead and surprise your friends with some tasty cauliflower for the Super Bowl. This recipe will sure help get the party started no matter what team you’re cheering for.
Loaded Up “Cheezy Baked Potato”
Sometimes instead of having lots of snack foods available for weekends like this, I like to have something hardier but still super comforting. My Loaded Up Cheezy Baked Potato brings back all the comforts from an original stuffed baked potato recipe—all with less fat, no dairy, and the bonus of easy digestion.
Well Beauties here are my top 3 healthy Super Bowl Weekend Recipes. Make one, or two or all three dishes if you so like. Just don’t forget to get up from watching the game and get your blood flowing from time to time. I like to put in some yoga poses during times like these. If you want some inspiration to get moving, check out my home yoga practice! Your body would be so happy if you gave it the gift of yoga in between watching the big game!
