Interview with Preethaji and Krishnaji
Kimberly Snyder: All right, Beauties. I am so excited to be sitting here with Krishnaji and Preethaji, who, as I was mentioning earlier, their book has already had a tremendous, tremendous impact on my consciousness. It has been in my mind since I read it last week. It’s very powerful. This is such an honor to be sitting with you both. Thank you so much.
Krishnaji: Thank you.
Preethaji: We have a very wonderful seat.
Kimberly Snyder: Amazing.
Krishnaji: Very beautiful.
The Four Sacred Secrets and What a “Beatiful State” Means
Kimberly Snyder: The subtitle of your book, again, is called The Four Sacred Secrets: For Love and Prosperity, A Guide to Living in a Beautiful State. Even the term “a beautiful state” isn’t one that we commonly hear. Can you explain a little bit what you mean by that?
Krishnaji: We have to understand that, as human beings we only live in two states. They maybe experience life, let’s say, they maybe experience children. They maybe experience a relationship with a husband or wife or work. We only experience it from two states of being. There is no third state. Whether they are Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, whether they’re a Chinese, Japanese, American, Indian, a man or a woman, or a three-year-old or 100-year old, we only experience life from two states. That’s the suffering state and the beautiful state. There is no third state.
Krishnaji: Now, suffering states are states where you’re basically feeling anxious, stressed; there is fear; there is anger; there is jealousy. Now these are states that are always suffering states. If you’re living from these states, you’re basically stressful. You’re anxious about what’s going to happen.
Krishnaji: Beautiful states are states of connection and love, peace, courage, passion, vision. When you’re relating from these states, you’re actually enjoy life. [crosstalk] the experience of life is very rich. You’re bringing attention to the relationship. You are in the present, you are in the moment. So a beautiful state is a state where there is a tremendous experience of connection. Connection with your child, connection with your husband, connection with your work, connection with your wife, connection in every relationship. That is a beautiful state.
How To Sustain a Beautiful State
Kimberly Snyder: We were speaking earlier. I think sometimes we glimpses of that, especially those of us that meditate. But the challenge is life is crazy and chaotic, and we have kids, and commuting, and stress. How does one sustain a beautiful state?
Preethaji: Most people don’t understand that it is very important to nurture these states. We are living in a civilization which is focused on achievement, which is focused on success. It’s great to be achieving, to be successful, but it’ll be great if we can focus on our inner state and experience all the beautiful things in our life from a beautiful inner state. Because behind everything that we see in the world, behind war or peace, behind togetherness or separation, behind harmony or politics, behind everything that we experience in today is one’s inner state.
Kimberly Snyder: I love this quote in the book. I’m paraphrasing, but it was, “State is the cart, and everything in your life follows.”
How the ‘State’ is the Foundation
Preethaji: Yeah, it directs your life. The state is the foundation on which your entire life is built. And unfortunately we live in a civilization which doesn’t have time for nurturing a beautiful state in consciousness. I mean, we’re talking about a beautiful state, we’re not talking about an emotional high.
Preethaji: But it is something with which we need to nurture and with which we need to live. It’s like, not that I spend 10 minutes in a day, and then say the rest of the day I’m going to be the way I have been. You take those 10 minutes, you meditate in those 10 minutes, nurture a beautiful state, and get back to living and experiencing the beautiful state in every aspect of your life. Which, when we say about leading with your child, as you move into meditation, it is important for you to bring attention to it and stick with it.
Kimberly Snyder: Keep going in.
Preethaji: Yes. It is not like you discovered love and then say it’s all fine. It is not like I connected with my child of few days back and it’s all going to be fine. No. The connection that you experience, you have to get back to again and again.
Kimberly Snyder: It’s a real practice.
Preethaji: Yes. It’s a real practice. And it’s not that you do it once in a few days and say you’re set for life, or you’re set for the month, or the year.
Kimberly Snyder: Was that your journey, both of you? Did you have to work to overcome that teenage stress and all the anxiety and just not knowing who you are for a lot of us as young people? Is this a practice that you also lived?
Krishnaji: Yes. So once you have this understanding that there are only two states, it becomes very clear that I need to choose a beautiful state.
The Choice You Make To Choose A Beautiful State
Kimberly Snyder: So first there’s the choice you make.
Krishnaji: The choice you make. Because only two states, right? It’s as simple as that.
Kimberly Snyder: Oh, we’ve heard it in the west like love/fear. So it’s like you could say it, suffering/beautiful state.
Krishnaji: Suffering and beautiful state. So once you have the understanding, then you make that as the most important thing. Because the conventional understanding is, if I keep achieving in the external world, I can get more happier life if I find the right life partner and become happier-
Kimberly Snyder: Find more money. Better job.
Becoming Happier First
Krishnaji: Right, and we are seeing constantly that people are becoming more and more unhappy. So the answer is very clearly that you need to become happier first, and then go and pursue these things. You can have them; then you add more meaning to it. Then you bring more purpose to it.
Kimberly Snyder: Then you will attract the right life partner, or the money that you’re seeking.
Preethaji: Absolutely.
Kimberly Snyder: So another term I’m interested in in the book, is this idea around self-obsession. I think in the west, in America, we connote that with being selfish or a narcissist. But I think you’re using it in a very different way. Can you explain about the concept of self-obsession and how that’s the root of unhappiness?
Krishnaji: Sure. So being selfish is different from being self-obsessed. Being selfish is I want everything for myself and someone else should not have it. That’s being selfish.
Krishnaji: For example, you can see two different siblings. You can see different friends. You can see different business partners. That I want it [crosstalk 00:06:23]-
Kimberly Snyder: Me, me, me!
Krishnaji: I want it and this person should not have it. Or I should have it first, and then this person can have it. That’s being selfish. But our self-obsession is more an internal process. If you look at your anger, if you look at your hurt, then you bring attention to your hurt. You will see that you are just self-obsessed. Why did this happen to me? Why did this person behave in this particular way while I have been so nice to this person? Why has God punished me? I have been so good to everybody [crosstalk 00:06:53].
Kimberly Snyder: Right. Why me? Why me?
Krishnaji: Why me? That’s the self-obsessive; that’s an internal thought process where you are going over me, me, and me.
Preethaji: You’re engrossed with yourself.
Krishnaji: With yourself.
What To Do When You Feel You’ve Been Wronged
Kimberly Snyder: But what would you say to someone that’s listening to this that says, but what if somebody did wrong me? What if somebody did steal my purse? Or what if my husband was in a bad mood and he did yell at me? And we can justify all these things. What do you say in that case? … I love the smiles here, like we heard this before.
Preethaji: When there is a problem, when there is a pressured situation, which every species experiences. It’s not us alone. It is animal species, it is the plant species, which experience pressured situation. With every challenge, the plant or the animal species does not engross with itself. Then they are present and then they do what is needed. They run away or they attack and they deal with it.
Kimberly Snyder: Right, they take the action.
Preethaji: But we are very special as human species. We have a pressured situation. So what the pressured situation needs is complete attention. What it needs is where you are live to the situation. But we go off. We go off on a big tour where [crosstalk 00:08:05]. We are engrossed with ourselves. And if you look, probably most part of our lives, I would say more than 80% of our life, we are only living in states where we are engrossed with ourself. That means we are not being present. That means we are not connecting to people. We are not connecting to life.
Kimberly Snyder: Because we hold onto those …
Preethaji: Yes. We experience this inner noise, this inner conflict which is taking off life out of living.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Preethaji: So when there is an actual problem, there is a situation, if you’re able to bring attention, you will get into fear, you get into anxiety, you get into loneliness or insecurity, it is important that you bring attention to that inner experience and you walk out of it so that you are alive enough to handle that situation.
Childhood Wounds and How To Get Past Them
Kimberly Snyder:A lot of us react based on what we were taught as children or childhood wounds, and there is a section of a book about the happy child. There’s meditations around this. I think most everybody has had a wounded childhood, and it’s very difficult as adults 20, 30, 40 years later, 50, whatever, to reprogram yourself. Because you can want to meditate, or you do meditate, you wanna live in a beautiful way. But then you feel bound by … I still have a lot of, I think, trauma, not big, just on a comparative scale, but little ways I react, little ways … I’m a recovering perfectionist.
Kimberly Snyder: It’s my fifth book. This is the first time I talk about having eating disorders, which is relevant, of course, as a nutritionist. But yeah, there’s so much childhood stuff. How do we get past that?
Preethaji: If you look at a snake in the nature, it gets very uncomfortable in its own skin. Then it gets into seclusion because at that point in time it’s very uncomfortable. It’s not able to see, it doesn’t have its home. So it moves into seclusion. It goes through a process by which it sheds its own skin. And then the skin emerges. And once the new skin emerges, it has [inaudible] its fangs, and its vision comes back.
What ‘Shedding The Old’ Means
Kimberly Snyder: So it had to shed.
Preethaji: We need to shed our old. Otherwise, we believe we are [inaudible] individuals. We’re responding to the situation because the situation needs it. But most of our responses comes from our old.
Kimberly Snyder: Right. Just-
Preethaji: Especially the ones that has happened when we were young has had a huge ramification on our experience of life and our conscious. It’s embedded in us.
Kimberly Snyder: Mm-hmm (affirmative)
Preethaji: And it is not fine that we are responding, we are relating, we are living our life based on something that has happened five years ago, 10 years ago. Every culture, every civilization has talked about shedding the old.
Kimberly Snyder: And-
Preethaji: Every-
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah.
Preethaji: … talked about a process, whether it’s Chinese, or Indian, or American culture, the Native American. They talked about shedding the old. But unfortunately, our civilization, with all its technological advancement, has failed to bring attention to this aspect. And that is why our journey is so important, our spiritual journey, where you’re able to shed all that is hurting you, so that you can purely live life. Otherwise it is so sad, especially when you come across people who have very … like probably one incident in their life is something that is dictating their life.
Kimberly Snyder: That’s crazy.
How Parents Have An Impact On Who We Become
Krishnaji: It’s unfortunate, and the truth is parents have a tremendous impact on who we become and how we experience life. That’s the truth. But the journey to become free of it, as [Preetha] just said, is to shed their own skin. And you don’t shed it by replacing stories, you don’t shed it by doing some strategies, or planning, or coming up with new stories and then saying that, you know what, I have been fearful all these years, but now I choose to get up every morning and say I’m the most courageous person in the world.
Krishnaji: So it doesn’t happen that way. It’s a journey that you need to take by looking at the truth and how it has impacted you and how that has impacted many of us and how it has played in your life. It’s really damaging your life. And I again go back to this truth that how we are set up [inaudible 00:12:25].
Tools To Get You Through Your Journey
Kimberly Snyder: I do read a lot of spiritual books, as I share widely with the audience. And, for me, reading the words of the Four Sacred Secrets, there’s an energy in it. And I felt like it started bringing things up. So even reading wisdom and truth can start the journey. And then you offer meditations. What are some of the other tools that you
offer to help people go through this journey?
Preethaji: There is wisdom retreat and the wisdom that came from [inaudible 00:12:59], from the mystical experiences that Krishnaji has had and I have had. They are more the wisdom that emerges from hard life experiences as we relate to each other, as we relate to our children, as we lead our teams, as we relate to some of the participants across the board. So there is a great wisdom that is being shared in Four Sacred Secrets.
Preethaji: We also have participants go through deep processes.
What The O&O Academy Workshops and Retreats Can Do For You
Kimberly Snyder: So participants, I’m sorry, could you mention your academy as well Preethaji.
Preethaji: We run an academy, which is present in India, but it also has its presence across many countries. And we have courses, we have trainers, we have transformers across all these places.
Kimberly Snyder: Is there anything in the United States now where people can go?
Preethaji: Absolutely. Oh yes. We have the one coming up in [inaudible] where I will be.
Kimberly Snyder: Oh amazing.
Preethaji: The Field of Abundance is a four day retreat.
Kimberly Snyder: Can you give the dates?
Preethaji: September 5th, 6th, 7th.
Kimberly Snyder: Oh, I for sure wanna try to be at that.
Preethaji: So it is an incredible four day journey which leads you to different processes, which awakens to the calm dimension, to the connection dimension and the creation dimension in your consciousness. So it is a great start. It’s an amazing start.
The Field of Abundance Workshop
Krishnaji: It’s called the Field of Abundance.
Preethaji: The Field of Abundance. And it’ll be great. So we lead the participants through processes, deep processes, whereby they are able to shed all that is …
Krishnaji: Holding them back.
Preethaji: … holding them back, yes. And we lead participants with meditation and practices. We also have a special meditation special with us in [inaudible 00:14:39]. I also do it when I travel. It’s called the Limitless Field Meditation where you’re led into experiencing the expanded states in consciousness.
The Mystical Transformation
Preethaji: So if you look at what happens, there is a transformation that happens at the individual level. There is a transformation happening at the heart level, there is a practice by which the transformation that has happened in the processes in the courses is continuing in your life. And there is the mystical transformation that happens in the Limitless Field Meditation where you’re activating yet another region of your brain.
Preethaji: So we are looking at a total transformation in the human being, and that’s our vision. It’s our passion to help individuals to step out of all that is holding them back, to step into those beautiful states, to have those powerful states of expansion embedded in their consciousness so that can be a light.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow. I was sharing with Krishnaji and Preethaji that I never get giddy, or nervous, or just riled up before a podcast. But we also … I had the honor of meditating with you both before, and I could feel an energy rising up. And I felt it just reading the book. So I think for any of you beauties, all you amazing listeners listening to this, just reading this book there is an activation that happens. It can happen through a book, and then, if one wants to go deeper, they will continue to do the practices or … I mean I’m so excited about doing one of your retreats and programs.
Kimberly Snyder: So you can keep going. There’s more and more tools to go deeper.
Krishnaji: Always.
Feel More Beyond Yourself
Preethaji: Absolutely, yes. The more expanded you feel, the more connected you feel. And it has to happen, in terms of allowing you to feel more beyond yourself. On one side of the spectrum is a softening state where you’re engrossed with yourself and you have a brain, you have consciousness with which you have lived for so many years. There is yet another spectrum including the beautiful states, the transcendental states in your life, the states of consciousness, which allows you to experience life very differently from the way you’ve experienced it.
Kimberly Snyder: Going back, so it seems like, on one spectrum you have the self-obsession, the I-state, and then there’s the oneness consciousness. So in the practical everyday, let’s say somebody does a wrong to you, somebody takes credit for your project at work or your partner gets very mad and yells at you. So let’s say you have been technically wronged, there is a state where you can perform that right action and not get … and stay in an expanded consciousness? Everyday life, everyday things?
Krishnaji: I think that’s life, right? We are going to-
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah people are gonna cut you off.
When Faced With Challenges
Krishnaji: We are going to be constantly faced with challenges, our husband, our wife. They’re not going to behave the way we want them to behave. It’s normal to have … they’re all going to throw challenges constantly to us because our work is going to throw challenges. That is why it is so important that we learn to live in a beautiful state, because we are constantly going to be pushed into such an experience. That’s what the world is going to do to us. Which means, you have to learn to dissolve those challenges, face those challenges, from a beautiful state.
Krishnaji: When you are in a beautiful state, the science clearly proves that … Science tells us that the brain actually grows, the brain actually expands. Which means you’re becoming more intelligent, which means it’s even more clear when you are attentive with a situation. And when you are being present with the situation or the problem, the solution is going to be magnificent. There’s going to be a solution that has so much of power and whether you actually turn the tide. It’s benefiting you instead of going against you.
Shed the Past
Krishnaji: That’s the power of a beautiful state. So you have that power, continue to take that right decision, that intelligence flowering in you. Plus you have this power of consciousness to turn the tide for you instead of going against you. So life is constantly going to throw … Anyone who tells you that you can use effort or use a strategy and change, things are only going to become-
Kimberly Snyder: It’s just the mental part.
Krishnaji: [crosstalk]
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah.
Krishnaji: It’s just never going to happen.
Kimberly Snyder: So would you say that’s true for someone that has had a lot of trauma in their childhood, in their past? We can literally shed the past and be in the beautiful state now?
Krishnaji: 100%. We have worked with only participants, hundreds and thousands of them, where they have shed their past completely, and they are awakened to the present. And they have learned how to live in a beautiful state and the importance of a beautiful state to create happiness in every aspect of their life. Relating to their husband, wife, [inaudible 00:19:28], wealth, their team numbers. Anything and everything, they have clearly understood that they have to be present, connect to them in a beautiful state.
Enjoying the Moment
Krishnaji: Only the first thing that they can achieve by doing that is they can actually enjoy what they’re doing. We’re all running so fast, we are not even enjoying what we are doing. We’re not even enjoying the moment with our children, we’re not enjoying [crosstalk]
Kimberly Snyder: Right, it’s like what’s the next thing?
Krishnaji: What’s the next thing? What’s the next thing? And we are totally anxious and stressed. We are just not happy beings at all. The truth is we are not-
Kimberly Snyder: It’s true.
Krishnaji: … we’re trying to be happy.
Kimberly Snyder: Or trying to show that image on Instagram, and the imagery outside. So for a lot of us women especially, I talk about this state of [not enough-ness 00:20:14]. I’m not skinny enough, I’m not pretty enough, I’m not doing enough. And then there’s guilt and there’s shame. So it’s a huge epidemic with women. I know I’ve suffered from it for years.
How To Cope With Childhood Trauma
Kimberly Snyder: One of the reasons I became drawn to working in this field of wellness is because I was suffering so much. So what would you say if it’s not a trauma I can point to in the past, but every day I’m feeling anxiousness when looking on social media? Scientists have coined this term “compare and despair”. Comparing “She has better hair”, “Oh I didn’t get invited to that party”, “Oh that festival looks amazing, I’m not there”, “I’m not enough.” It’s a very modern phenom … It’s very in your face now with your phone and the Instagram scrolling.
Kimberly Snyder: This is a very modern problem, but there seems to be ancient wisdom that can help us with this. What would you say to that?
Preethaji: We have conditioned to live ourselves on the seat of our backs.
Kimberly Snyder: Yes.
Preethaji: That is what we have done.
Kimberly Snyder: That’s it.
Preethaji: That is what we have done to ourselves and our children and continuing to do to our child. That is this comparison that is happening right now with the social media. It’s not there alone, it started off when we were children going out in schools. Maybe we’re ashamed of somebody or something.
Preethaji: And that is embedded in our consciousness. That is the way our neuron [circuitries] work. Let us get back into feeling comparison, then get back into feeling jealousy and again and again and again. Then you strengthen it. That is why, as Krishnaji says, we need to bring attention and nurture this beautiful state as and when these suffering states or stressful states emerge within you.
Preethaji: The more you nurture a beautiful state, the more you feel connected to people, the less you would feel less about yourself.
An Ongoing Practice
Kimberly Snyder: So it’s an ongoing practice?
Preethaji: It’s an ongoing practice. The more connection you feel, the more love you experience. Then you would feel more love.
Kimberly Snyder: Right.
Preethaji: You will feel so wonderful about yourself.
Kimberly Snyder: So then you can see thank god Instagram won’t bother you as much.
Krishnaji: [inaudible] it’s very unfortunate that we are unhappy. We are searching for happiness constantly, and unfortunately we search for happiness and that happiness comes by how many views do I have.
Kimberly Snyder: How many followers, yes.
Krishnaji: Yes, how many likes. And even though you have millions of likes, let’s say, you are still unhappy. That’s the truth.
Kimberly Snyder: It’s never enough.
Why It’s Never Enough
Krishnaji: Never, never, never. So I think everyone is very beautiful and very intelligent.they have the emotional intelligence, which is really high comeback on that. Very intuitive, but I think this pattern of this external beauty [crosstalk] and I think nobody’s going to find happiness through that, trying to look young, trying to look more beautiful, all the stuff that’s … I don’t think it’s ever going to happen.
Kimberly Snyder: It’s never gonna be enough. Never gonna be enough skin and hair.
Krishnaji: We have seen people who have learned to live in a beautiful state actually their skin transformed. Their hair problems are gone. Because the body actually regenerates, it recreates. And you are looking younger, you are looking more beautiful.
Kimberly Snyder: State leads.
Why We Look Ugly
Krishnaji: State leads to physical beauty actually. The reason we look a little ugly or ugly is because our skin [crosstalk 00:23:29]. We are so unhappy that it’s affecting our skin, it’s affecting the way we look. So I think if we can correct that, everything else will become fine. We had a participant who used to only have 10 likes or 15 likes. He came to our course, and after our course he posted a picture and he had 400 likes. He said, “I’ve never had so many likes Krishnaji. People are saying that you look younger, you look more beautiful.”
Kimberly Snyder: His energy is shifted.
Krishnaji: His energy has shifted.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Krishnaji: And every participant who comes through our course, the same thing happens.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Krishnaji: I think if we can have another world in a beautiful space, that will help beauty automatically come.
Preethaji: And then comparison is not a part of our life.
Kimberly Snyder: Right.
Preethaji: Like YouTube person, millions of followers, or celebrities who have millions of followers are feeling very low.
Kimberly Snyder: Yes.
How To Remove Comparison and Jealousy
Preethaji: So that is not the solution for the way we experience life. The more we nurture the beautiful state, the more we are able to. Then all this comparison and jealousy will fall out.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow. I know Yogananda tells a story about the musk deer in India, and he’s running around, “Where is this smell coming from?” And it’s actually secreted from his own body. But I feel like, in a way, that’s what we’re all doing. It feels exhausting. Everybody I meet is saying, “I’m just exhausted of this. I can’t do enough. I can’t do this anymore. I can’t …”
Relationship Drama
Preethaji: We are trying to search for happiness instead. We believe that human will give happiness. A billion likes will give happiness, followers will give happiness. You can nurture happiness within yourself.
Kimberly Snyder: And a big topic too that I get a lot of questions is, and I know it’s along this through line, is about relationship drama and fighting with your partner. Sometimes the people closest to us, sometimes the people that we love the most get the brunt of our states of suffering. And we can show a happy face on social media, at work-
Preethaji: Not at home.
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah, at home. So it’s a very deep disharmony in the home space. And there’s almost this divide, like public face or how I am with my friends and how I am at home. Do you think that one person that awakens to your work, that reads your book, that goes to the O&O academy … because we also get people that say, “Oh my husband’s not open to this,” or this and this. Do you think one person in a relationship can help transform?
Preethaji: Absolutely.
Kimberly Snyder: Not both.
How To Nurture A Relationship
Preethaji: Because we have seen, in our experience, I would say connection is the most powerful, what you call it, powerful state that can nurture a relationship.
Kimberly Snyder: True connection.
Preethaji: True connection. That you feel accepted, where you feel being one, that you are able to feel the other person’s joy, feel the other person’s suffering and respond with love. That state of connection, I think, is the most powerful experience that you can have for your loved ones. To impact their hearts. To impact their experience of life. If you have an individual who can connect to you very deeply, that individual, that connection that you’re experiencing, will help you you shed all the pain that you experienced in the past.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Preethaji: I have a 15 year old daughter, so I can see it work. We are not parents who sit down and advise, we are not parents who are trying to collect all of that. But we connect.
Kimberly Snyder: And you listen to her.
How To Connect In Relationships
Preethaji: We listen, we connect, we feel. And that experience of connection has a huge impact on the way she experiences life.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Preethaji: And if you’re a partner, or if you are a parent, or if you are also a team leader, there’s one aspect that you need to nurture within yourself to be an experienced connection. The more connected you are, greater the impact that you can have.
Kimberly Snyder: Would you both say that you have to connect to yourself first? In the other phrase in the book you talk about aligning to your inner truth. What would you say to someone who “I don’t know what my inner truth is. I’m not really connected to that so, therefore, I can’t really connect to other people?”
Preethaji: You can’t connect when you’re burning in jealousy. You can’t connect when you are in states of hurt. You can’t connect when you are insecure. Because all these states you are engrossed with yourself, you’re not out. You can be amidst people, but you’re actually being absent there.
The Pathway Out Of Jealousy
Kimberly Snyder: So when you’re in it, what is the pathway out? Let’s say you are in the deepest jealousy, you see something on Instagram that triggers you and you feel that burning that you described Preethaji?
Preethaji: You’re just wanting to bring attention to the jealousy.
Kimberly Snyder: So just be with it.
Preethaji: See it. See it, witness it, observe it, and be with it and see how much of it is an engrossment of yourself.
Krishnaji: And see how much you’re comparing. You’re in the process of comparing, right.
Kimberly Snyder: So the first is observing it, that’s the real power. And then what? Then let’s say it’s still there. Okay, I’m doing it, but will it start to dissipate?
3-Minute Practice
Preethaji: Yes. When you do that, there is a practice, [inaudible] practice, which is not in the book. It is actually a three minute practice. To observe your emotions, to observe the moment of your mind, whether you’re moving to your past or your future. And then there is a visualization step over there that you see a light move from the middle of your forehead to the middle of your brain.
Preethaji: Basically you’re activating yet another region of your brain. So when you are in states of anger, fear, hurt, jealousy, you are inactivating the amygdala. And you need to activate yet another region of the brain. So this practice allows you to activate the medial prefrontal cortex of your brain.
Preethaji: And slowly you would see that these states that emerge, the stressful states that emerge, dissolve. And then you begin to learn to activate in your brain.
Eastern Medicine vs Science
Kimberly Snyder: Wow. I love that you’re also giving a very scientific … just information about what’s going on with your brain. Can you speak a little bit about that? Because sometimes there’s a split, Eastern, the meditation, the yoga, and then there’s the science and the biohackers. And actually, there is a beautiful integration.
Preethaji: It is ancient wisdom, which is combined with our experiences of life, with our own mystical and the transcendental that we have had in our life. Then the whole … Scientist are looking for solutions for creating a better individual, making sure that we are more happy or more joyful. We are bringing in the wisdom that is needed, the ancient as well as our own life experiences, our mystical experiences, along with the science.
Preethaji: If you look at the Limitless Field Meditation, in the Limitless Field Meditation what happens is there is a region in your brain where you would feel expanded states of consciousness. Where you’re able to move beyond yourself, which activates the region in your brain. The ancients called it Brahma Garbha region. The womb of the limitless consciousness.
Kimberly Snyder: What is that in western terms?
Preethaji: It is the area where the pineal, pituitary, and the hypothalamus gland is.
Kimberly Snyder: So here, in the back?
Preethaji: Yes.
Kimberly Snyder: Or is it …
Preethaji: Beyond.
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah.
Preethaji: Yeah, so when you activate that region of your brain, you’re actually moving away. See we are [crosstalk 00:31:25]. There’s so much of this.
Kimberly Snyder: It’s so local.
Preethaji: Yes. And then when you expand, you have this ability to collect. You have this ability to feel beyond all that is limiting. And that transformation has to happen, and that happens in a process. That happens when you are able to shed the past. It happens when you are able to see the truth. That happens when you are able to dissolve your suffering. And then, you evolve into beings who are able to collect more. And in the Limitless Field Meditation they lead people into that state where it is, you can call it the mystical, or the transcendental, beyond your limiting space.
The Impact On Your Students
Kimberly Snyder: And do you find with your students that they experience this incredible transcendental state and it stays forever? Or do you feel like they keep coming back to the academy regularly to get more of that?
Krishnaji: I feel like they’re coming to the academy to get it more deeper. But they do experience it back in their home in their meditating. They do experience it back when they’re connecting to what happened in the academy to them. They keep experiencing those states. In fact, those states arise in them as challenges come in life. And people have told me that the states come. And that state in me began because of this challenge.
Krishnaji: In fact, we have the Ekam Enlightenment Festival.
Kimberly Snyder: Yes, please tell us about this.
Krishnaji: It happens once a year in December. So this time it’s happening on December 3rd to 9th. So we have people from 75 countries come together. And they go to five most magical of the life states. So where you are actually being pushed into this and expand the states of consciousness. One of the states you get into is the witness state. I think the nonstop chattering of your mind. And as you’re witnessing that, your mind silences. It becomes calm and then it totally dies. You become present to everything that’s around you.
Krishnaji: And then when you are present is when this intelligence comes. Connection comes in the present, to know what you are witnessing. So people experience the state and they told me that once they’ve gone back home and they are facing challenges and mind is constantly chattering, this state comes up. The mind calms down, and they’re actually paying attention to the situation and they’re able to find a solution.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Krishnaji: That’s far more powerful than they would’ve thought. So this enlightenment festival is a place where you can experience these expanded states of consciousness. And these states get embedded in your brain, your consciousness, and your cells, and it becomes part of you.
Find More Information About The Enlightenment Festival
Kimberly Snyder: Where do we find out about the festival?
Krishnaji: At ekamfestivals.com
Kimberly Snyder: Okay, great. So we’ll put the link in the show notes. But anybody can attend?
Krishnaji: Anybody can attend.
Kimberly Snyder: That’s amazing.
Krishnaji: Yes.
Back To Science and The Brain
Kimberly Snyder: Back to the science for a moment, the two states you’re talking about. Is it actually measurable? There’s different parts of your brain that are lit up?
Preethaji: Yes, definitely. We are not on the research here, but-
Krishnaji: We will be doing it.
Preethaji: We will be doing some. But, as an individual, the response that they give to life, the experience that they have with their child, with the children, or with the partner, or with the team, it changes.
Kimberly Snyder: Yes, and your whole sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system, your hormones, I imagine from your brain down, everything is in a totally different state when you’re in this connected state.
Krishnaji: Yup. When you’re in this connected state, in this beautiful state, your immune system is much better. Your brain is expanding. Your cells are much better health. I was talking to a very famous scientist, and he was telling me that, in fact, the communication between cells will also improve. Because what’s happening in the cells is constant communication. And they were saying how cancers, some of the cells decide to work with them and not for the health of the body. That’s what cancer does.
Kimberly Snyder:They’re not part of the community, yeah.
Krishnaji: So they can decide. And they decide that, you know what, they’re not going to work together anymore. And that’s what cancer cells are.
Krishnaji: So in the same way, if you are able to be in this state, a beautiful state, then everything works together. You look younger.
Kimberly Snyder: Better skin.
Krishnaji: Better skin, more hair growth, better eyesight, everything.
Kimberly Snyder: Isn’t that amazing?
Krishnaji: It is, it is amazing.
Kimberly Snyder: It’s all the prana, the energy that’s running through us. It affects everything.
Krishnaji: We are becoming sick. Our health is becoming sick, our minds are becoming sick, our relationships are becoming sick. Everything is becoming sick because we are living in stressful states. We have to change our inner world. If we can change our inner world, the outer world will definitely become more beautiful.
Kimberly Snyder: Mm-hmm (affirmative)
Krishnaji: In other words, how we were beautiful in the outer world might become externally and physically. The inner world doesn’t change our experience of the external world, it can be very painful. And in that painful state, we will be able to destroy our relationships.
More About The Beautiful State of Connection
Kimberly Snyder: I feel like we were speaking earlier about this beautiful state of connection. We can get glimpses. Sometimes we go on an amazing vacation and we feel free. But it is that challenge of maintaining that connection, not dropping it day-to-day.
Preethaji: We need a powerful experience.
Kimberly Snyder: So you think one powerful experience can really sit you forward?
Preethaji: Yes.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Krishnaji: It can set you in this journey, and I think it’s also, again, understanding that there are only two states. So what is the state I want to relate to my wife? What is the state I want to relate to my kids? To my husband?
Kimberly Snyder: And committing to that.
Krishnaji: Committing to that, yes. And understanding that, in that state, magic happens. In that state you are living a fulfilled life.
Spiritual Vision and Aligning to Your Inner Truth
Kimberly Snyder: So back to this idea about a spiritual vision and aligning to your inner truth. Is that about oneness? Is it general when we create that for ourself? Is it the same? Like people I wanna live in a beautiful state, or is it more specific for each individual?
Preethaji: It is to bring attention to our inner state. We all have vision for our external world. It is also to have a vision for our inner state of being. And this vision for our inner state as we call it, is a spiritual vision, is going to redefine our purpose in life itself. We will be able to set out with great clarity, and I think we’re already confused.
Kimberly Snyder: Very confused.
Preethaji: We do not-
Kimberly Snyder: People don’t even know what to eat for dinner.
Preethaji: We don’t know what we want to do, we don’t know why we are in a relationship, we don’t know why we have children, we don’t know why we have a career. They’re lost. That is because of the inner chaos that we experience and the inner disconnection we experience. Just to live in this beautiful state, then you’re bringing attention to our inner state, which is the foundation for our lives.
Preethaji: Krishnaji and I believe that when you are in a beautiful state you’re actually communicating to the universe. You are communicating to the universe that we are open to love, we are open to joy, we are open to synchronicities. And the universe actually supports us in our endeavor.
Kimberly Snyder: And when we’re in a suffering state, we close off that communication?
Preethaji: Close off, and we also communicate that we are open to problems.
Krishnaji: And that’s how you create more problems, so you will see this couple that’s happily married for so many years where all of a sudden they’re divorcing. On this hand, you are so wonderful, on the other hand, [inaudible 00:39:16], financial problem. It’s because your state has not been fine. You have been living in stressful states. They have been living in suffering states, and you’re communicating that I’m inviting problems. I’m open to obstacles. Because you are [crosstalk 00:39:28].
Helping Your Relationships and Business
Kimberly Snyder: So the more connected we are in that state, it will help your relationships and your business.
Preethaji: Absolutely.
Krishnaji: The more happens in your life.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Preethaji: We believe that we’re separate individuals, but we are connected in the realm of consciousness. And there is a constant communication happening between us and the universe.
Kimberly Snyder: You talk about this field around you too, which quantum physics has actually proven there is a field that’s generated.
Preethaji: Yes, that is generated, and that is generated because of your state. The more you are engrossed with yourself, the more you’re feeling the universe is your enemy who’s plotting against you.
Kimberly Snyder: Everybody’s against you, it’s so hard.
Preethaji: You’re battling. You’re battling in your family, you’re battling at work, you’re battling with your children. And the more connected you are, the more clear you are with what you’re doing in your life. And there is this connection that makes you feel that I’m there for you and everyone else is there to support you in whatever you’re doing.
Preethaji: So that is why you bring attention to our inner state again and again.
Kimberly Snyder: Always.
Krishnaji: Yeah, that’s the importance of spiritual vision. Because, unfortunately, whether our parents, our school, our college, or any course you go to in somewhat get this and you’ll become happier. You’ll become a millionaire, you’ll become happier. Or if you’re a billionaire you’ll become happier.
Kimberly Snyder: Exactly. Get a bigger house.
Daily Asking Yourself: What is the state I am in?
Krishnaji: You have to work on an inner state. You have to first find this beautiful state within. And from there, you becoming a millionaire or billionaire or getting a bigger house, but you have a meaning. You have a purpose and you are supported. Right now you’re just going and doing whatever you want to do, but total chaos in your life, total [crosstalk] within you. And you’re not even sure, if I become nearly that, if I barely get that will I be happy. And how do you get that if you find you are not happy. Because you want something more or someone else has something better than you have.
Kimberly Snyder: So every day you wanna keep asking yourself …
Krishnaji: Yes, asking yourself, yes.
Kimberly Snyder: … the state.
Krishnaji: Yes that’s the most important question, what is the state I am in? Because every experience is happening within you.
Kimberly Snyder: And you talked about, Preethaji, observing it. If you are like, oh I’m actually in an anxious state, you don’t judge it, you don’t bring guilt.
Preethaji: No you don’t judge it.
Kimberly Snyder: You just watch it.
Krishnaji: Because there are only two states. So there’s no point in judging it at all. Every human being on this planet is experiencing jealousy, anger, fear.
Kimberly Snyder: Oh there’s [Bubby] in the background.
Krishnaji: There are only two states. So when you know that, there’s no point in judging it at all. It’s life, right? And you know that there’s darkness and brightness.
Kimberly Snyder: So you watch it, you judge it, and then …
Preethaji: You’re not trying to change it, you’re not trying to calculate it. Don’t do what you’ve been told to do because we are always being … If you are an angry person, we are asking you to be not angry. Then you’re experiencing jealousy, you’re told not to be jealous. That’s what we have been fed with morals. And that has not helped us all through these years.
Preethaji: So when you are experiencing jealousy, just pay attention to it. Do not try to change, do not try to tackle with it. Do not try to avoid it.
Kimberly Snyder: Don’t judge yourself.
Preethaji: Just see it with utmost clarity, and then do the practice of the [inaudible 00:42:50].
What “The Nobody State” Means
Kimberly Snyder: So one last question here. The nobody state, I also resonated very much in the book, and I think many of us that will read the book. We feel like we don’t matter. So that is the ultimate disconnection. Oh I was just created as a mistake, or I’m replaceable at my job or my family, or my partner will find someone else. What …
Preethaji: We’re constantly living in a state, and I have met billionaires who live in this nobody state, I have met celebrities who live in this nobody state, I have met normal people who live in nobody states. It’s not about how much you have or how much you do not have. It is not about how much you’ve seen or how much you have not seen. It is something …
Kimberly Snyder: It’s a state.
Preethaji: It’s a state that you have been living, which you have been fueling, in which you have … It’s like the inflammation in your brain. We talk about the inflammation in our bodies, the [crosstalk] in our body, it is the inflammation in your brain. This nobody state which is actually making you a diseased individual in your consciousness. So it is, again, to bring attention, to see.
Preethaji: And this nobody state will disappear the more connected you are.
Kimberly Snyder: Right. Everybody matters. Every soul that is here, we all matter. There is no someone’s more important, or they may have a light and I don’t. Everybody has it.
Krishnaji: Amen.
Preethaji: Absolutely.
Krishnaji: Absolutely. Every being on this planet has it. There is …
Kimberly Snyder: They’re just forgotten.
Krishnaji: They’re just forgotten. They just need to awaken to it. They need to learn to move in a beautiful state and everything will change after that.
Kimberly Snyder: Amazing.
Krishnaji: It’s as simple as that.
Preethaji: The more disconnected you are, you’re feeling more being a nobody. That is why the states of expansion, the states where you move beyond yourself, then you are really …
Kimberly Snyder: Yeah, you feel it. You do have to nurture it consistently.
Preethaji: Yes, definitely.
Kimberly Snyder:Well-
Krishnaji: [inaudible]
Kimberly Snyder: Like a baby.
Krishnaji: Having this understanding.
Kimberly Snyder: That’s right. And the book was very, I would use the word activating, for me. It was exciting. I felt like it brought things up that needed to be healed. So thank you for writing such a powerful book as well.
Preethaji: Four Sacred Secrets is our vision so that, Krishnaji always says this, put our living in a [inaudible 00:45:24].
Kimberly Snyder: I love that. We can have everything from this state.
Preethaji: We can have everything from this state, and we can have and sustain it. Only when we are living in a beautiful state.
Kimberly Snyder: And sustain it. That’s it. That’s it.
Krishnaji: Sustain it and grow it.
In Closing
Kimberly Snyder: Well Beauties, please, please check out the show notes for more information. Again, the book is called the Four Sacred Secrets: For Love and Prosperity, a Guide to Living in a Beautiful State. You can get it online, you can get it anywhere books are sold. We’re gonna have a direct link. The official pub date is August 6th. Very exciting. And again, Krishnaji and Preethaji also have their amazing O&O Academy and programs. Can you just give us the website again really quick for the academy?
Preethaji: You can get all the details at pkconsciousness.com. Oh and the festivals, you can get it at ekamfestivals.com.
Kimberly Snyder: Ekamfestivals.com. Oh and the peace is …
Krishnaji: Yes, we have Ekam World Peace Festival coming up. And we all have to understand peace is not an activism. They’re trying to find peace or get peace from a very angry state. So peace is [crosstalk 00:46:29].
Kimberly Snyder: I’m gonna picket and be angry for peace. It doesn’t really make sense.
Krishnaji: Exactly, like yeah the action you are putting in is an angry action, but demanding peace. So peace is an awakening of consciousness. It’s a state that one has to awaken to. So we have this Ekam World Peace Festival that’s happening from September 11th to September 21st. It’s an 11 day festival. And each day we are awakening to the damages that’s caused by war, the problems that have been caused to women, child harassment, the problems we are causing nature.
Krishnaji: And we are blessing people who have been affected by this, who have been negatively impacted by these bad things that have happened. And we are blessing people to have peace in their lives. And we all, thousands and millions of us. This year we’re planning to have close to two million people together these 11 days.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow. And we’ll add a link to that as well. You don’t necessarily have to travel to India. You can participate from here.
Krishnaji: You can participate online.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow.
Krishnaji: And become an Ekam peacemaker, and then you can participate in the meditations.
Kimberly Snyder: Two million people?
Krishnaji: Yes.
Kimberly Snyder: That’s incredible.
Preethaji: Last year we had over a million.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow. That is incredible. Coming together for-
Krishnaji: We have these points called Ekam peace energy points, and Ekams lay them on the ship and everything is like a ship. And they all connect. Because in consciousness we are all connected, right?
Kimberly Snyder:Yes.
Krishnaji: We all connect these 11 days and these energy points that people are meditating.
Kimberly Snyder: Wow. So we’ll put all that information, the academy, the peace festival, and then also, Preethaji, your-
Preethaji: [inaudible]
Kimberly Snyder: Which is coming up in September, which I will be at. I love that. Thank you both so much, namaste.
Preethaji: Namaste. Thank you so much.
Krishnaji: Thank you so much. Namaste. Wonderful topic.
