Keep your pooch hydrated with these sweet frozen treats!
As my personal favorite summertime treat, I’m happy to share the deliciousness of watermelon with my dogs. Watermelon is safe for dogs to eat—in moderation. This fruit contains vitamin and nutrients, is high in fiber, and is low in calories. As well, I’ve added Instant Golden Milk to the mix—which happens to be the perfect companion to add to a watermelon treat.
Watermelon Frozen Treats
Ingredients
- 2 cups watermelon
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons the honest kitchen Instant Goat’s Milk dry powder
Instructions
- Scoop out watermelon with a spoon – it must be seedless. Remove seeds if any. Add to blender and puree until smooth.
- Add water and Goat's Milk powder to blender and pureed watermelon. Blend well.
- Pour mixture into ice cube trays. If you’re using hard plastic ice cube trays, you’re safe from most spillage. But if you’re using silicone bone molds, you’ll need something flat to lay them on. Before you pour, put the silicone mold on something flat that you can move to your freezer, like a cutting tray or cookie sheet.
- Freeze molds/trays overnight.
- To remove from tray, let sit on counter for a few minutes to loosen frozen treat. Twist tray to remove treat from mold.
Recipe Notes
Be sure to remove any seeds that are in the watermelon, and remove the rind completely from the watermelon.
