Hi Beauties,
Today our topic for our blog is How To Have Healthier Skin and this is a concern. This is a big interest for a lot of us because our skin is our first impression. It’s what people see about us. It can instill confidence. It also reflects our internal health.
Taking care of our skin is a very multifaceted topic and so we’re going to, I’m going to be talking to you about this for the next three weeks. Different aspects of really healthy skin. We get so many amazing questions from you guys and our beloved Solluna community. I really want to make sure that we cover this topic. Let’s dive right in.
Your Skincare Routine
Hydrating with the Glowing Green Smoothie®
First thing that we have to talk about with glowing, beautiful, healthy skin is hydration. We cannot get away from that. On my desk, I always have a glass of room temperature water. Also, having your Glowing Green Smoothie® every day is really like enzyme charged waters.
There’s so much enzyme charged water, vitamins, and lots of nutrients inside the GGS. It also has fiber to cleanse your system as it’s hydrating you.
I’ve had horrible skin issues in my life personally and have battled acne for years. I know what it’s like to put your head down in shame because you don’t want to look people in the eye. This topic is also really close to my heart.
Hydrating with Water
We want to flush out our system with lots and lots of water. We want to avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol, which are really dehydrating. When we have too much alcohol and caffeine, it really does show up on our skin. Our skin can look more dry, can look more rough. It doesn’t have that healthy texture.
Make sure you’re drinking a lot, especially in between meals. Keep your water in your car, on your desk. Anywhere you hang out a lot, remember to drink a lot. When you go into the meals you are fully hydrated and you don’t overeat and you also don’t dilute your digestive enzymes by chugging a ton of water at meals.
You want to really space your water out 30 minutes ideally on either side of meals and during the meal you can just sip a little bit of water but please do not chug.
Add Dry Brushing To Your Skincare Routine
Just as we talk about detoxifying from the inside out with Detoxy, with oxygen, with fiber cleaning our system, we really want to help detoxify externally by moving the lymph manually through dry brushing or even Abhyanga self massage.
This helps to drain the toxins from our system and it creates better circulation. You can get a dry brush for six bucks at the store or you can heat up some oil. We have a lot of instruction on this in my book with Deepak called Radical Beauty. Also on our site, mysolluna.com.
Basically you want to brush up towards your heart. If you’re using a dry brush or doing self massage, if you’re doing Abhyanga, this will help the lymph drain. This is really great for beautiful skin because anytime we are bettering circulation and things moving through our system, we’re going to see more of a glow. There’s less congestion, less stagnation, less buildup, less toxicity in our body overall.
Protecting Your Skin
We also want to make sure that we’re not getting too much sun. I’m a big advocate for a couple minutes on our limbs just to get that vitamin D, but sun damage is a very real thing. I definitely wear a hat all the time and do beach walks. Every day when I’m in the park or in the yard with Bubby, I have a hat and big sunglasses, I use chemical free sunscreen.
I’m a big fan of Suntegrity which is a brand I like a lot. There’s also Badger, which you can find at health markets. Get a nice chemical free sunscreen and really do protect your skin and get a good hat.
Good Skin Products
And lastly, we definitely need to use really good skin products. What you use on your face shouldn’t be excessive, you don’t need to use a lot. What you use should be very carefully chosen, having really high quality ingredients.
Avoid taxing petrochemical based products, which can actually wear down your collagen and create build up on your skin and inside your body.
Check Out Solluna Skincare
Feel Good Cleanser
I want to share with you our Solluna skincare line. We have our Feel Good Cleanser, which cleans your skin and removes pollution and helps to quell inflammation, but does not strip your skin.
Feel Good Vitamin C Serum
This is an amazing product called our Vitamin C or Feel Good Vitamin C Serum. This is super potent. It’s at least 10 times more stable than regular vitamin C. I use this every day and it helps your skin glow and look fresh and dewy. If we don’t have proper moisture in our skin, it doesn’t look fresh and youthful and happy.
Feel Good Moisturizer
Next we have our Feel Good Moisturizer, which is my dream moisturizer. It’s everything that I wanted, including an alternative botanical to retinol, the right oils that don’t clog your skin. You don’t want to put straight coconut oil on your skin for instance, because that can stretch your pores.
Black cumin seed oil and rose hip and argan oil is what is in here, which is amazing as well as natural hydrosols, LG extract, plant stem cells. This is a power packed but still clean and nontoxic moisturizer.
Feel Good Eye Cream
And finally we have our amazing Feel Good Eye Cream, which I love as well for this beautiful delicate skin and it helps to brighten and depuff.
There you have it. Make sure you are hydrated all the time. You are moving your lymph through dry brushing, self-massage. You protect yourself against excessive sun exposure and you use amazing products such as our Feel Good Solluna Skincare line.
