This week’s topic is: Getting Past the Root Cause of Not Feeling Good Enough
This topic in particular is something that pervades different aspects of our lives, whether it is in our relationships where we don’t hold healthy boundaries, or we don’t feel as supported.
Perhaps they can pervade our dietary and food habits. When we abuse our bodies, we don’t feel connected to the truth that they are our unique bodily temples, or we don’t feel good enough. The result can be that we don’t try as much in our jobs to create what we really want in life or whatever it is.
This is a really important topic today, and I can’t wait to get into our questions, which cover all different aspects of how this fear starts to seep into our lives and has a really detrimental impact.
Have you been wondering about this very topic? If you want to know the answer to this question and 3 more sent in by Beauties just like you, listen now to find out!

Hey Kimberly! My husband and I haven’t spoken to his mom in over a year now. The reason we stopped talking in the first place was because she constantly lies. She started intentionally bringing up my husband’s ex-girlfriend in a positive light then she lies to my husband and says she doesn’t do that and calls me a liar. I don’t feel comfortable being around her or even a desire to have a relationship with her anymore and my husband feels the same too but I don’t want him to have regrets. She is still his mother and we have a son. I’m extremely confused about what to do. What should I do?
Amanda – Canada
I would love to hear your advice around healing my rosacea using the four cornerstones. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Sending you peace, love and light!
Leanne – Oregon
I have depression on and off and know this is contributing to not feeling good at anything I do. Can the four cornerstones really help and where do I even begin?
Reid – Georgia
I’ve worked my butt off to get promoted and yet still remain in the same job position for 8 years now. As a man, I’ve always leaned on the idea that we shouldn’t show our emotions. I’m pretty healthy overall and maybe lacking in the spiritual area. What would you suggest?
I LOVE HEARING FROM YOU!

And so I cannot wait to share, all right, let’s get into our show today. This topic getting past the cause of not feeling good enough is so important because as I mentioned, if we don’t really address the root cause, this, this fear, this separation we create within ourselves blocks us from really feeling peaceful. It blocks us from showing up and just having a good time in life, having fun, but really putting our full effort or pull our full light, our full power into every moment, not feeling good enough makes us shrink. It makes us self doubt. It makes us question ourselves and play small, and it certainly affects the depth and the fulfillment that we can create in our relationships. So I’m very excited to get into this topic.
Question #1 around the topic of: Getting Past the Root Cause of Not Feeling Good Enough: Hey Kimberly!
And the first one comes from Alanna, who is from Dallas. Hi, my love sending a big hug out there to Texas. She would take Kimberly, my husband and I haven’t spoken to his mom in over a year. Now, the reason we stopped talking in the first place was because she constantly lies. She started intentionally bringing up my husband’s ex-girlfriend in a positive light. Then she lies to my husband and then she doesn’t do that. And calls me a liar. I don’t feel comfortable being around her or even a desire to have a relationship with her anymore. And my husband feels the same too, but I don’t want him to have regrets. She is still his mother and we have a son I’m extremely confused about what to do. What should I do? Thank you so much, Alanna, for, um, for this beautiful question, this heartfelt question.
And as we see, and we know from personal experience that a lot of shadows, so to speak within ourselves with other people, they play out in our relationships. And especially in our familial relationships are people that feel close to us so that they can show different parts of themselves. You know, it’s sort of like when you start dating somebody and you’re, you know, you, and that other person are probably on your best behavior for a few weeks, a few months or whatever. And then in a certain point, you start to see different. Shall we say, layers of that person? And you know, if the love is there, the connection is there. It doesn’t make you run away, but you realize, oh, you know, we have to hold space for each other. We have to reflect back to each other. We can help each other grow.
We can be compassionate with one another, but in the beginning you might not have seen those layers. And so it is true that with, you know, in-laws relatives, close friends, um, you know, neighbors, whatever it is, people that are in the inner circle can really, um, can really just, uh, trigger us. And the important thing here, Alanna there’s a couple things is, you know, do not allow someone else’s behavior to ever dim your light or to make you feel not good enough in some way, you know, comparing you are bringing up the ex-girlfriend. I’m sure isn’t fun to hear, but you just have to center back into this moment and remind yourself that, you know, if people have darkness inside of them, if they have shadows, they’re struggling. And so they may say things to try to get a reaction or to get attention or whatever it is, it’s, it’s a projection of pain.
So the first thing is that we try it’s difficult as it is. We take a pause and we try to really cultivate compassion and we try to pour more love from our hearts out. We can recognize that a human is struggling. So your mother-in-law is definitely struggling if she is lying. If she’s saying things that don’t, you know, aren’t aligned to the reality, there’s a real struggle there as a human. So the first thing is, instead of acting out a vengeance, we, we look to the light of compassion. We look to the light of, okay, the root cause. Here is someone who is not feeling good in themselves. So they are doing that. The second thing is healthy boundaries. And so if someone starts putting up early, starts acting out of darkness and it is affecting you, someone is actually lying. We need to, you need to look at how you can create a healthy boundary.
That’s really authentic and genuine and helps to protect, not just keeping out, but protect what you want. So you want to have honesty in your life and you ought to have, you know, presence with your husband or, you know, whatever it is you want to feel safe. So what the kind of healthy boundary you could put up with your mother-in-law is, you know, to say, okay, well visit you periodically. Um, but you know, it will be for lunch and the three of us will be together. So there is that opportunity to lie. And then, you know, we’re attracted to the third party, whatever it is, or however, the healthy boundary feels to you. You know, we want you to be part of our lives, but it hasn’t felt really good with some of the discrepancies. So, you know, we’re just gonna keep it to this and this occasion or however it is, but you have every right to protect yourself.
My love Alanna, this is, you know, important part of feeling good enough is that we deserve to be treated with kindness and with respect. And we expect that from other people and we treat other people that way. And so that energy in your life is really feeling like it creates a lot of friction, but you’re torn because you don’t want to cut her off completely. Like I said, just draw the line. What would feel good to you? You know, we have relatives we see maybe once a year. And so we haven’t cut them off. I’ll send pictures of the kids, you know, holiday time they’ve already gets a card like this and that, but it isn’t, um, you know, it doesn’t cross into more than that, because more than that, with certain people feels draining. It doesn’t feel good. So go within your heart, find some stillness and see how would you like the relationship to look ideally where she’s not cut off, but she’s also not in your life all the time.
So thank you my love for, uh, for being part of our community, for sharing. I hope some of this resonated with you. Please write into us and share more. As you go along your journey. We’d love to be here and to support you more. So sending you so much love my sister.
Question #2 around the topic of: Getting Past the Root Cause of Not Feeling Good Enough: I would love to hear your advice around healing my rosacea using the four cornerstones. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Sending you peace, love and light!
All right, let’s get into our next question, which comes from Amanda, who lives in Canada and she’s she writes, I would love to hear your advice around healing, my rosacea, using the four cornerstones. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question, sending you peace, love and light. Oh man, I love this question and sending you love out there and Canada, just north of here. And I do believe that skin conditions, bodily conditions, um, are all, you know, multi-factorial, they are all part of this overall energy that creates us.
So when we are looking to solutions, we definitely want to take this wider, more holistic approach. Whether we’re talking about rosacea or digestion issues or fertility issues or whatever it is, it really is important to honor the whole being that we are and to really pay attention and to use practices and tools and all of these areas. So from a food perspective, we know this, this redness, this sort of inflammation, this, um, this reaction in your skin can be tied to certain foods that you’re eating. So you can try eliminating one food at a time for a set period and see what foods may be triggering you, that you don’t necessarily, um, you aren’t necessarily aware of. Now I do recommend going back and listening to our podcast with Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, he is not a fan of all of those food sensitivity tests. We talked about this on the podcast, because as your gut, your microbiome balance and your gut strengthens some foods that you were sensitive to before and previously may not be the case now, but in this time you can notice, oh, I really have a sensitivity to any sort of gluten.
Even this sourdough bread, isn’t feeling good to me, or it’s creating a, um, a reaction or the, um, you know, I’m just making this up balsamic vinegar or, you know, whatever it is. So you start to become aware of what foods create something, whether it’s immediately, or a few hours later, or a day later, um, or you, you know, as you switch to really nourishing nutrient dense foods, that don’t create a reaction like kitcheree right now, which is something I’ve been making a lot of hubby. And I have been eating it a lot. So lentils, sprouted, brown, rice veggies, ginger cumin, tumeric, all these really healthy digestion spices. I do recommend giving up dairy. I don’t think it digests well for anyone. I think gluten could be one that right off the bat, you might want to think about eliminating, but beyond that, you know, really pay attention to different foods and how they react to your body, to your unique blueprint.
From a body perspective, I mentioned God health. It is essential. Amanda, with any sort of eczema, rosacea, um, any sort of, you know, acne, any sort of skin condition. I definitely recommend going to our Solluna triad, which is digestive enzymes before you eat to help that food break down to SBOs in the morning every morning, without fail, to make sure that your immunity is working well, as well as your GI tract, as well as your energy. So we want obviously our body to be attacking foreign invaders, but not our ourselves. We don’t want any sort of auto-immune condition. And so healthy gut microbiome can really help in all of these areas. So take your, your Solluna SBO Probiotics every morning. And then the evening I recommend Detoxy just to help flush out waste. If there’s anything in there that’s causing any sort of blockage or aggravation in general throughout your system, you want to cleanse and in a healthy way.
So not just doing a water fast, right? But some the Detoxy has oxygen and vitamin C. That’s going to help move wastes from your system. There are times and places to do water fast. I have done them myself, but with what we’re talking about here, I think more of a gentle removal. That’s a non laxative is going to be helpful. Now, emotionally stress and anxiety can definitely kick up these sorts of triggers and rosacea. So if you’re not feeling good in yourself now back to our theme here, not feeling good, you’re feeling fear. You’re not feeling like, oh my gosh. You know, in all the ways that it comes up, I have to get this done, or I’m going to get in trouble, or they’re not going to like me, or I am not going to be validated by my coworkers or people are going to think X, Y, Z, I’m lazy.
Does it matter? So we want to look to the stress and anxiety in your life. And we want to start centering ourselves more from an internal validation point versus an external one. Amanda. So what I mean by that is you can feel the emotions coming through you and you can acknowledge them. Oh, you know, I’m feeling a reaction to this. I feel the sensation. So you can soothe yourself by allowing those feelings to be felt and to be processed through and to acknowledge when you have big feelings, big emotions around certain things. So what this does is allows the energy to keep moving without being held inside of you or stagnated, which can then lead into triggered responses like rosacea, rashes, acne, and so on. You want to allow the energy to flow. It’s always about that waterfall that I talked about so many years ago in the beauty detox solution, allowing this flow of energy.
So start paying attention to sensations in your body, start feeling them, letting them release journaling is a really great practice as well. You can also journal around. Here’s where I got a triggered rosacea reaction. And here’s what happened that morning, or right before a couple hours before. So you can start to connect patterns with how your emotional and mental health is actually related to things that happen in your body and happen to your skin. And so that’s, you know, that’s a beautiful, beautiful, powerful practice as well. And then our last cornerstone is the spirit spiritual growth cornerstone. And here, this is where we start to exude a very different energy. Um, this one also helps with stress and anxiety, but in a different way, with the emotional wellbeing we are feeling what’s going on. And then we’re releasing it with spiritual cornerstone. We are centering into the true self into this stable part of us, into the center of us.
So away from what the peripheral nervous system senses with the five senses beyond what we see and taste and touch and smell. And here we are centering and concentrating the energy inside of us. So we naturally become more impervious to reactions and what everybody else is doing and all the happenings outside, because we find this deep reservoir of stillness and peace inside of us. And so by nature of this starts to create less little irritations inflammation externally in our world and internally in our bodies. There’s a great piece that starts to rise up inside of you. The more that we tune into this and the more that we meditate regularly morning and evening, ideally, please check out our practical enlightenment meditations, which are only about seven minutes, but very powerful for helping to yoke your limited. I, me ego consciousness to the divine, the expansive energy, and in many ways, this is how I was able to clear up my acne and my bloating.
Yes, I was changing my diet and yes, I was, um, you know, starting to move my body in different ways. I was doing asanas. I was doing different things, but really it was about this tuning into myself that has been building and building now for over 12 years. And I can say that we start to feel this light of true confidence. And I do believe there is a connection between that freeing up energy, allowing more healthy skin to emerge because so many of these skin conditions, whether we’re talking about rosacea or acne or eczema or whatever we’re talking about, um, have to do with, um, some, some form of energy that isn’t, isn’t flowing in a healthy way, whether it’s toxicity buildup, whether it’s stress buildup, it’s going to erupt out through our skin, which is our largest organ. So regular practice of meditation will help to center you. It doesn’t make everything perfect, but it does help with the, um, the calmness and the equanimity and the connection to self, which I do believe really does benefit everything, including your skin. So try these out for yourself, love and let me know how you do and try, really putting focus into each of the four cornerstones for the best results, sending you so much. Love Amanda. And yeah. Do you keep in touch with me about your rosacea? Lots of love.
Break
All right. Our next, oh, actually, I’m going to go right into the next question, but we’re gonna take a short break first. My loves. And when we come back, we have two more questions for you on this topic of getting past the root cause of not feeling good enough.
Question #3 around the topic of: Getting Past the Root Cause of Not Feeling Good Enough: I have depression on and off and know this is contributing to not feeling good at anything I do. Can the four cornerstones really help and where do I even begin?
All right. My loves, our next question comes from Leanne, who lives in Oregon. Hi, my love. Thank you for your question. Thank you so much for being part of our community. We are so honored to have you, and your question is I have depression on and off and know this is contributing to not feeling good at anything I do. Can the four cornerstones really help and where do I even begin? So Leanne, I’m sending a big virtual hug. My sister, this is a very serious issue. And thank you so much for your authenticity and bringing this to light.
I will say that we have had a couple depression focused podcasts that we will include in the show notes and, you know, hopefully reading or listening to some of those guests can also shed some, some light and some real, um, concrete action steps you can take. If it is, you know, turning into a chronic issue, if it’s starting to really affect your life. I definitely recommend seeing a qualified therapist as well, that can really help. Now that being said, um, so much of depression, this is my perspective of it comes from disconnection at the root. It comes from, you mentioned not feeling good enough, so does not feeling good enough. It means we are disconnected to the true self, to who we really are title of my book. Now the new book is you are more than you think you are. So if we think that we’re these limited, you know, bodies is a bag of bones and flesh basically, and just, you know, getting up and doing the same pattern going asleep, it’s sort of can feel depressing from a limited standpoint and the same thing with not feeling good enough.
It’s like, well, here’s what my, what I can do. And here’s what other people are doing. And here’s what I look like. And here’s what other people look like. So it’s this emphasis on this very limited perspective, which we can now identify and call the ego. So the ego is this shell, the pseudo soul as yoga calls it, this very limited part of our being, which is, you know, performing, doing things in the world looks a certain way. And so depression arises as well as anxiety by the way, and not feeling good enough, really arises from this identification, with the ego as who we are. And that is not who we are. That is a fraction of who we are, who we really are, is the, the voice inside of us, of the hearts of intuition. This is the true self. It is the, the energy that is running through you in every cell of your body and your being in your mind.
It is the formless unique soul inside of you. This is the part of us that is directly a drop of consciousness, of spirit, of the divine of universe, whatever word you want to use. This is the expansive part of you. So Leanne, all that’s happened here is you’ve put your identity in the wrong place. You’ve put all your energy and your, your connection to yourself into something that you are really not. So by nature, you are going to feel depressed. You are going to feel limited. You’re going to feel stuck and stagnant at times because that is the stock and stack. Um, part of you, it’s very small. It’s just what the physical eyes can see. So it’s really important here. Leanne is to start to re connect to the energy inside of you. So we can start to do that. We’ll start with a fair physical way.
You can start to massage your body every day. This is one of the re recite of practices of Ayurveda, where you’re touching your skin. And you’re working on a deeper level with your nervous system and your reactions and your a liveliness. So Ayurveda says that, um, massage is very good for depression. It’s very good for self connection. So I recommend that you take 10 minutes a night to just warm up some oil on the show today, we featured Banyans Daily Massage Oil, which I truly love it is in my bathroom. I keep a bowl in my bathroom as well, and a jar. So I put that daily massage oil into the jar, and I put hot water into the bowl around the jar, which is a very gentle, easy way to warm the oil. And then the ritual of self-taught self-connection stillness, just being there with your body is the beginning of starting to reconnect in to this beautiful alive ness, this unique gravitational field, this beautiful essence that is Leanne from a food perspective, eating healthy fats, especially in mega threes is great for brain health.
For depression. I recommend taking an algae-based EPA DHA supplement everyday land as insurance, but also avocados, chia seeds, flax seeds, all of these are wonderful fats. Emotionally. I’d like you to journal, to sit and to, oh man, we have such amazing journal prompts in the Soluna circle. Every month I invite you to join in there, which is where we can also really hold space for you and to be together throughout the month on a daily basis. But I will say that emotionally, just starting to journal about, you know, what am I feeling today? And, you know, go down to the root. Am I identifying with my ego or my identifying with the true self?
What is this really about? What am I grateful for? You know, look to the light process, but then always look to the light and sight that will help the light expand. What am I grateful for? What’s going on here? What is, you know, what’s alive in my life. And if you don’t even know how to connect to the true self yet, which most people do, not, most people haven’t even heard this term yet. We want to meditate on a regular basis, our spiritual growth, cornerstone. This is the practice of getting to know the true self so that you can connect deeper and deeper in to the true self. The true self is this stable, loving, courageous part of you. Once you start connecting to this, which is an experience, it’s not something we can just talk about intellectually, but when you start to experience this self-connection land, you will no longer believe that you are not good enough because when you start to connect in, this is blasting forth over time as your meditations deepen and become more regular at the beginning of peace, the beginning of bullous that just comes up from inside of you and out all these little things are so small.
What I look like compared to other people, the, that people are doing the experience of the internal energy and peace and bliss, bless out caring, at least caring so much about all that stuff. And I will say personally that my meditations have deepen so much in the past two years, especially it is hard for me sometimes to, um, come down to planet earth. I really love being in meditation. It’s hard for me to watch anything on a screen. I think we’re all wired differently, but for me it doesn’t hold my attention. I would rather just sit and sit with the energy inside. And, um, I don’t think, um, you know, different per se, but I think that once you’ve really taken the time done the work to connect with that energy, it’s just ever new bless, you know, Yogananda says this ever new joy. And so this depression, this external focus is what it really is.
Leanne. I encourage you to go deeper and deeper inside, check out these four cornerstone practices and how you can really start to connect to the deeper part of you, which is where the bliss, all the light comes from, which will eventually melt the darkness. But as I mentioned, besides meditation, and these practices, it may warrant you talking to a professional therapist. So if you feel that, um, that is important or of interest would be helpful in any way, please do research, ask around. There’s a lot of therapists that you can do, um, tele appointments with. So you can just do it over zoom. It’s very convenient now. So let me know how you do my love. I send you so much love from my heart to your hearts so much light, and please definitely keep in touch with us and please consider joining the Solluna Circle so I can give you even more support my love.
Question #4 around the topic of: Getting Past the Root Cause of Not Feeling Good Enough: I’ve worked my butt off to get promoted and yet still remain in the same job position for 8 years now. As a man, I’ve always leaned on the idea that we shouldn’t show our emotions. I’m pretty healthy overall and maybe lacking in the spiritual area. What would you suggest?
All right, let’s get into our very last question. Now who comes from Reid, who lives in Georgia? Hi, my love he writes, I’ve worked my butt off to get promoted, and yet still remain in the same job position for eight years as a man, I’ve always leaned on the idea that we shouldn’t show our emotions. I’m pretty healthy overall, and maybe lacking in spiritual area. What would you suggest? Well read. I love, love, love this question. And I do believe that there we are in a time now where we’re starting to look at some of these really restrictive gender prescriptions, like mentioned show emotions. You know, women don’t have enough feel and enough reason, and we’re starting to realize that we have all the energy inside of us and we cannot be, you know, um, pushed down or defined by all of these externals that which do not have truth in them.
So Reid, I will say that if you are in the same position and you do feel that you warrant a raise, it is important that you voice your truth and you come from that and a non-reactive place. We’ll talk about the cornerstones in a moment here, but it’s important that you, um, sit and you get really clear about what you think you deserve, and then you bring that forward to your superior boss or whoever it is. And you, you with the facts, Hey, I’ve been here for eight years, I’ve done X, Y, Z. And at this point I do believe that I’m, I need this, you know, I’m, I am asking for this race right here, because this is what I deserve and I’ve worked and I’ve proven myself. So I would definitely voice that because sometimes we assume that people know or they’re thinking in the same way, but sometimes if our silence means that we don’t, we agree we’re complacent. And so there is a time and a place to speak truth.
I will say that, you know, similarly to what I was saying to Leanne, the spiritual area of your life read will bring forth more of your voice and your intuition and leaning into your gut. A lot of people, they can be men or not do just rely a lot on rational thinking. And there is a limit to that. Of course, some of it is important to function in the world. We live in this 3d reality, but beyond that, the power of intuition can not be overstated. The power of dropping in to this self connection, which is, as I mentioned to Leanne, not just a place of peace and joy, but creativity and infinite intelligence. So when you start to meditate regularly read, which I would love for you to do that aligns to you, um, morning and evening trier, practical alignment, meditations, which are on the app or mysolluna.com.
So I can guide you through, it’d be there, hold space for you. What happens is you may sit and do your meditation, and then you journal afterwards about the situation with your job. And you’re like, wait. So, um, actually I could do this. I could, you know, um, create this on the side and let this build up and then just quit this job. Or maybe I’ll, you know, um, start looking around at a, at another position or whatever it is, just these creative impulses from your intuition will start to rise up. And that will give you so much effective, productive power in the workplace. It is very practical. So working with a true self, isn’t just like, oh yes, I feel fuzzy. Goodness. Yes, that too. But it aligns you your truth to action steps to take, to move forward, which is, you know, infinitely, useful and productive, like I’ve mentioned.
So I do recommend read, sitting, doing your meditations, tuning inside, feeling what is in there? Who am I really, what energy do I want to bring forth into the world? What do I want to create with my life? Is this job aligned to that? If so, I’m going to voice my truth and speak up about my promotion and my race, because I know that I deserve that, but if it doesn’t feel super aligned anymore, I’m going to shift, and this is how I’m going to do it. You don’t have to know everything about how you’re going to do it, but you’re going to start to open up to that energy. Look at other possibilities, create a game plan. It doesn’t have to shift overnight, but we start to feel that strength, that real deep safety and security inside of us inside of you read, do you take that safety insecurity anywhere into any position, into any job, into any position, any situation, and you have yourself, you have your true self that will always have your back.
So you need not fear staying stuck in something because of, you know, someone else’s stuff. Don’t let the fear damp in your life. So I can feel from your question and read that, you know, there’s this power emerging emerging in you. This energy is coming up, nurture it with meditation. I promise it is the most important, most useful activity useful use of your time because everything will come from that inner connection. I cannot wait, please. My love, try the meditation. Please write into me. Let me know which one you like, which one you vibe with, how you’re doing, how this is progressing with your job. You know, whatever I hear these questions. I don’t like to just hear once I want to keep, please keep following up with, with me. I’m here for you and please keep the questions coming, read. And you know, we’re having a, um, meditation on December 6th. If you’re listening to this before, then please come to this free meditation I’m holding so we can see each other and we can talk further. We can meditate together. So sending you so much love. I’m so honored that you’re here with me today and in our community. Lots of love.
Thought of the Week
All right. My loves it’s time for the quote of the week. And I’m going to read this one from the book. You are more than you think you are practical enlightenment for everyday. Life cannot wait until you are holding your copy. This comes from the chapter. You are confidence, which is a chapter about tuning into create real unshakeable confidence, not what I call surface confidence. When you connect to the true self inside of you, it’s the end of trying to desperately cling to fleeting surface confidence. You know that the light is working through you and coming through you in a completely unique way.
The need to compare yourself to others starts to fade away like an old board game that just bores you now. So I started kept reading a couple of sentences. Let me say it one more time. When you connect to the true self inside of you, it’s the end of trying to desperately cling to fleeting surface confidence. You know that the light is working through you and coming through you in a completely unique way. Or remember that the good stuff, the bliss, the confidence, the ideas, the abundance comes from inner connection. It is expansive. It is limitless. It is infinite. That is the well of energy from which we want to drink from, and then bring that energy into all the channels of our life.
Never gang will we wonder if we are good enough? Because we realize we are light of spirit inside of us. We are this infinite unique creation. We live more and more from that place and everything changes externally. People react to you differently. You have different relationships. You’re more compassionate.
