This week’s topic is: How Bodywork Is Part of The New Focus For Healthy Aging Skin Care
As we get into our topic today, it’s really amazing how interwoven all these different parts of our lives are and how obvious it is this interconnected oneness. If we really want to create great results and feel, and look our best and just express our most fullest beautiful, vibrant versions of ourselves, we really do need to take a holistic approach.
When we’re talking about body work, we’re talking about moving with the body’s energy through all these different modalities, which in turn will open up the Chi, open up the energy in your body and allow your skin, which is your largest organ to express more vitality.
It’s all these ways that we work to live and to bring together aspects of our lifestyle. We want to work with a physical part of us. In this case, we want to use healthy, really nourishing, deeply powerful skincare, like our Solluna Skincare line. We want to manage our mental and emotional stress, which also shows up in our face as that creates aging and inflammation. Please check out our show last week about reducing stress to boost your health, and also working with the body in ways to consistently release stagnant energy and open up fresh energy in the body.

Namaste loves and welcome back to our Thursday Q&A show where our topic this week is How Bodywork Is Part of The New Focus For Healthy Aging Skin Care. And so, as we get into our topic today, it’s really amazing how interwoven all these different parts of our lives are and how obvious it is this interconnected oneness. So if we really want to create great results and feeling, and yes, looking our best and just expressing our most fullest beautiful, vibrant versions of ourselves, we really do need to take a holistic approach. And as we talk about today, when we’re talking about body work, we’re talking about moving with the body’s energy through all these different modalities, which in turn will open up the Chi, open up the energy in your body and allow your skin, which is your largest organ to express more vitality.
So it’s all these ways that we work to live and to bring together aspects of our lifestyle. We wanna work with a physical part of us. So in this case, we wanna use healthy, really nourishing, deeply powerful skincare, like our Solluna Skincare line. We want to manage our mental and emotional stress, which also shows up in our face as that creates aging and inflammation. Please check out our show last week about reducing stress to boost your health, and also just working with the body in ways to consistently release stagnant energy and open up fresh energy in the body.
Thought of the Week
So I actually wanna start today’s show. We don’t always do it this way, but I wanna show start with our quote of the week, because it’s really relevant to our show today. And I want you to start to contemplate this right away. This is from our new book, which is out called Your Are More Than You Think You Are, which I encourage you to pick up wherever books are sold.
It is written from a place of, um, sharing what’s really helped, which I think is profoundly helpful, especially today from the great ones from the gurus practices, teachings, just a whole new perspective of living. And this quote comes from page 157, and this is on one of the chapters in vitality. It’s called how to supercharge your vitality chapter 13. And the quote is, The more energy that flows through your body in its deepest capacity, the more energy will flow through your life. This powerful energy is the force to fuel your creations and help transform your life.
So I often think that sometimes we look at things to linear and too much of a linear approach in terms of adding up numbers or being so specific about not always natural ingredients and skincare, but looking at clinical studies and showing this type of retina or whatever it is, is meant to really change our skin. But when we go beyond the linear approach and we let, as I say in this, as I write in this quote, just letting the deepest energy flow through that is the natural way to recharge. That is the natural way to deeply nourish your vitality in all your organs, including your skin. And what happens is the appearance of you will start to shift and change and just become more glowing and healthy and abundant in this Chi in this vitality. So we really wanna look to this holistic way if we wanna get the best results before we go in, I could just keep going in deeper and deeper.

And that is the way we continue to strengthen ourselves through expansion, through really caring for our brothers and sisters, which are really just parts of us. If we really go deep into oneness. So sharing the show is a beautiful way to expand your own energy as well. So thank you so much in advance.
Question around the topic of: How Bodywork Is Part of The New Focus For Healthy Aging Skin Care: Kimberly as I get older I am looking for natural ways to keep my skin looking fresh and healthy. What are your thoughts?
Okay. Let’s get right into our question today, which comes from Jillian, who lives in Arizona. Jillian writes Kimberly as I get older, I’m looking for natural ways to keep my skin looking fresh and healthy. What are your thoughts?
So Jillian, thank you so much for your question. And I think it’s natural for us to focus on our skin because in a deeper sense, our skin is reflecting our overall health and vitality, and that’s something I’ve written about so much in the past. So the food part of our lifestyle is very much cemented in here. <laugh> in our community. It’s very much offered through the books and the recipes, and you can really eat this beautiful
Antioxidant, rich food combining way. So please check out the beauty, detox foods, beauty detox solution, what we’re talking about here, Jillian today, and thank you for raising up this issue or this question, thank you for being part of our community is to expand beyond just eating for healthy skin and also exercise, which we know is really great for circulation and maintaining our muscle mass. As we continue through life, we continue to journey. We wanna make sure that we are staying active, of course, and getting outside for me, exercise has really shifted into more natural movement. Instead of this is the one Vinyasa class I’m doing today. It’s more just walking around the farm and picking up stuff and moving the wheelbarrow and walking to the waterfalls and playing with my kids and stepping into this natural active lifestyle, I think is really great. Um, in a deeper sense of connecting with nature, reducing stress, it’s really great for the body, but what we wanna focus on today is also body work and body work is really interesting.
It in it entails ways in which we can use energy to move through the body. So for instance, acupuncture is something that’s really wonderful fascial work and lymphatic massage or moving the lymph body alignment is another one we’ll get into these in more detail and also just really wonderful massage, which in, um, VEIC terms with oils AGA massage, which I try to do as often as possible is a really great way of nourishing the body, reducing stress and moving energy. So what we’re talking about here in body work, and also face yoga, which is a way of massaging and stimulating the muscles and lymphatic system in the face where so many naughties are, which are these energetic points, sort of like the acupuncture points, but this is an VEIC system, the Nies, and this is designed to relax the facial muscles and to help relieve stress, which of course, um, leads to lines and wrinkles. So what we’re talking about here though, is moving stagnant energy. So when we move stagnant energy through the body, like I said, it allows this fresh PR Chi life force, vitality, whatever word you wanna use to trickle and run through all the little rettes, all the capillaries, all the 72,000 naughties, which yoga teaches us are through the body. So that we open up this blood flow, this circulation, this deeper sense of circulation, the
Life force PR through all the cells. And then of course our skin will look glowing and rejuvenated. We will look more alive. We will look younger because that is what energy does. So body work is a important part of our skincare in this way. And there’s actually studies and research about this, which I will link to in the show notes. Um, one study from 2018 found that the benefits of facial exercise improved older people, it says here the mental health, it also helped with their, um, facial expression, um, moving their tongue, being able to express themselves more through their voice. Other research found that face yoga, actually the practitioners reported a younger appearance back to our idea of, you know, feeling this energy running through really does have a visible physical effect as well. And then it goes on, you know, there’s just more research on linked to in here about massaging the cheeks, moving energy through this body work a lot of facial, um, yoga, facial massage research is out there.
And let’s talk about some of the other, um, modalities that I recommend wholeheartedly in order to really benefit the skin. One is acupuncture and you can do acupuncture throughout your body to help rejuvenate your entire system. You can do acupuncture on specific points and you can even do facial acupuncture, which allows the Chi to move through your face and your facial muscles and open up blocked energy. So if you think about a, a plant or any sort of living thing, when it’s nourished with energy, when it’s nourished, let’s say a cat, you touch it, you pet it or a rabbit, or that plant is nourished with water and sunlight. It starts to open up, but if it’s denied energy, it just starts to wither and decay. So we want to open up the energy through the face, through the skin, through the different parts in our body.
And again, the circulation just starts to flow through and we get the results that we’re looking for. So there’s lots of research continues to come forward on acupuncture. I get acupuncture somewhat irregularly, but when I get it, I love it. And I often get it because I, I have stiffness sometimes in my hips and my back, especially from holding my kids and just life. So it’s important to find ways to move the energy organically. There’s also really great fascia work. That’s become more and more popular out there and lymphatic work. So our limb system helps to move toxins through and it’s really important to, and the fascia is this connective tissue that runs through our entire body. It’s around our muscles and our organs. And so there’s actually, um, ways we can work with the fascia and the lymph things like stretching using foam rollers.
Uh, there’s lots of videos you can check out on YouTube or, you know, specific, uh, centers you can go to now for getting fascia work. Also there’s actual lymphatic drainage massage, which is aimed at moving the lymph, helping it to move towards the drainage points. And so just moving stagnation, old toxins out of the body, along with fascia and lymph Foric, we are taught that it is so important to continue to drink lots of water and to be optimally hydrated at all times. This is so important to keeping the body supple, keeping the skin looking fresh. So that is one aspect as well. And then another aspect is body alignment is another type of body work that will benefit your skin. And this includes things like facial asymmetry work. There is all sorts of CRA SAC therapy. There is ING, there’s so many different, um, of course there’s many infinite forms of chiropractic.
So I recommend in this realm really looking for recommendations, because this is where the strength and the wisdom of the practitioner makes an enormous difference. It’s not that all CRA SAC is good. It’s not that all chiropractic is good or bad, but it really comes down to your vibe, your connection with that practitioner and what they’re channeling through at that time. And if it helps to open up your body and your skin or less. So, right. So see what flows into your path. As you open up to this, or you start to ask trusted friends and colleagues and see who’s recommended, see you try different things out, see what vibes and next I wanna talk about the face yoga, which is also something you can, you know, buy some, some books on looking some manuals on, which is really about helping to lift and from the muscles underneath the skin. There’s actually research around this. As I referred to earlier, just really helping to actually improve the muscles of the face, just to prevent sagging, just to prevent that loss of elasticity and to keep things looking firm and smooth. And next massage is such an important aspect for helping your whole skin. I mean, Avedo goes on and on. And the Isiah part of the practice, which is the antiaging part, basically the rejuvenated part about a Bianca warm oil massage is just said to help really relax the
Nervous system, just open up that circulation. It’s just so powerful. And so while you’re doing, if you do AGA yourself and we have some articles and some videos on this, you wanna make sure that you are focusing on your scalp, which of course is part of your facial appear appearance. Your head has that effect of creating glow. You’re focusing on your ears cause there’s many different Meridian points there Nies and your face. So if you’re a little weird about getting oil on your face, I am not. You wanna just make sure you’re using really pure oils, organic oils, but you don’t have to use oil unless you are okay with it. You could also just use a moisturizer or our vitamin C serum is really great for this as well. And just allowing yourself to just massage and soothe the muscles in your face, especially around our jaws, where we tend to hold a lot of tension, but also the face all through the forehead.
And this is really powerful as well, your own kind of face yoga. And of course you can also get regular professional massages as you feel called to, or do trades with your partner or whatever it is <laugh>. So I hope you enjoyed this show and I hope this opens you up to this idea of body war, body work as being an aspect of healthy skincare to keep your skin fresh and rejuvenated. Please be sure to check, check out the show notes at mysolluna.com for more studies information podcasts, I think you would enjoy and so on. And let me know how you do, let me know any other questions that arise. So sending you so much love and so much gratitude for being here with me on the journey. And I will see you back here Monday for our next show till then sending you lots of love. Namaste.
