Today we’re going to be covering the top three New Year’s Resolutions that many people make and how we can best accomplish these. Yes, with outer action steps, however, fueled from inner connection and working on ourselves first.

Everything that we see in our outer world is shaped from our inner environment, from our inner vibration. And so today we’re going to be talking about losing weight, growing in your work career, whether that means getting another job or growing your salary or getting a promotion, and number three, attracting love.

Namaste loves and welcome back for our Monday Solocast podcast. Welcome to the new year 2023. I feel like it’s going to be an amazing year ahead for all of us, and I’m very excited to celebrate this year with today’s podcast topic, which is about how inner goals in many ways are more important than outer goals. And today we’re going to be covering the top three New year’s goals or resolutions that many people make and how we can best accomplish these goals. Yes, with outer action steps, but fueled from inner connection and working on ourselves first, everything that we see in our outer world is shaped from our inner environment, from our inner vibration. And so today we’re gonna be talking about losing weight, growing in your work career, whether that means getting another job or growing your salary or getting a promotion. A number three, attracting love.

So we’re gonna be talking about these three goals in depth today, and I am still at our farm in Hawaii. As I’ve been recording the last few podcasts, I wanted you to enjoy some of these nature sounds. So I am sitting right on the earth right now. I, the last one of the podcasts I shot was in the middle of our forest, one was in our bamboo grove. And today I’m sitting amongst our pet cow trees, which we’ve been planting out in the pasture. So you hear some of these beautiful bird sounds and just some of the rustlings around in nature, just know the roosters. Just know it’s because we are enjoying this time together outside. And so I hope you enjoy these beautiful sounds and my next podcast will be back to normal. I’ll be back in the studio. But um, for now, please enjoy this unique environment for our show today before we get further into our show.

Solocast: How Your Inner Goals for the Year are More Powerful than New Year’s Resolutions

Okay, let’s get into our show today, which is about inner goals. And it’s not that we don’t wanna take action steps and we don’t wanna create goals on paper because I think that’s a very practical way to focus our energy and our attention and to really define what it is that we want, which is a really important part of the manifestation process. Manifesting is creating, co-creating with spirit here on this physical plane. So we do want to create that, but it is infinitely more powerful when we’re creating from the inside out. And this is true of anything. We create beauty, true beauty from the inside out. And I’ve been talking about this for years, whether it’s a healthy body, beautiful skin, more energy, but it’s true. We create our love, we create our relationships, we create our work success from the inside out. So from this deep seed place inside of us, energy is formulated and created.

And so what you are currently seeing in your life has been the product of your inner environment. So, so many people make these New Year’s resolutions like, win a lose 10 pounds this year, or I’m going to double my salary, this is the year I’m going to find a partner. And that’s great. And so you can take steps like, okay, I’m gonna spend an hour a day on dating apps, or I’m going to drastically cut my calories. And that can work for a time. But there’s a reason that so many people abandon their news year’s resolutions within two weeks. There’s research around this. There are, there’s a reason why so many people don’t really make long-term shifts in their life after a few weeks after the new year. And that’s because we are focusing just on the external. And so it’s sort of saying, I want to grow this really healthy tree, and we’re not taking the time to make sure that we’re selecting.

And here I am looking at my caca trees. We’re not selecting the best seeds, we’re not nurturing the healthy seed from the beginning. So when the tree grows wonky or unhealthy or doesn’t really survive past infancy, it’s because from the beginning we weren’t really creating this strong united foundation. So when we’re talking about shaping your inner environment and your inner vibration, the inner goals, this is a lot of what I addressed. And you are more than you think you are the new book. It’s really about connecting to your true self, the source of your power. So we do that through calmness. We do that through listening more to our in intuition and these messages which rise up inside of us and help to guide us. So we need to create space, stillness, and silence for being able to listen to our intuition. We wanna make space and time to be aligned to our values, to get really clear about what it is that we value.

So for me, my biggest value, right? One of my biggest values right now is living with compassion, self-compassion and compassion for others. This allows us to come from this really pure place in our soul when we’re speaking, when we’re making a decision, when we’re acting, we’re not doing it out of separation or ego or anger or jealousy or competition, small parts of us. But we’re coming from this really deep place of kindness and humility and unconditional love. So when we have these sorts of goals about aligning to soul qualities, what kind of person do we wanna be? What kind of values do we wanna live in our life? We start to change our energy <laugh>, we start to really shape our inner state. And that vibration is what pours out of us. It’s what radiates out of us and shapes our outer lives. So let’s go through the top three new year’s resolutions that many people make and how this applies to those specifically.

#1. New Year’s Resolution: Losing Weight

So number one, let’s talk about losing weight <laugh>, which is a really big topic for a lot of people. And you know, this is the year I’m finally gonna drop those last 10 pounds, those last 30 pounds, whatever it is, I’m gonna be healthier, I wanna have more energy. But if we’re not aligned on the inside, again, we can try to use our willpower and follow a strict diet. But we all know that isn’t really sustainable. And when I’m talking about willpower, it’s just like that more surface type of willpower. We’re saying, okay, I’m really not gonna eat the cookies today. I’m not gonna eat the pizza, whatever it is. And that can create limited results.

In contrast, when we start to really connect inside of us to who we really are <laugh> to this energy inside of us, we lessen our identification with the ego, which means we have more of this ability to process our fears and let go. Or we have this ability to soothe ourselves and to realize the ups and downs of life do not define us. We stop projecting all of our feeling good into sensory pleasures like food. We become more intuitive about when we truly are hungry and when we truly are just reaching for something to try to soothe an unmet un nurtured emotion and feeling.

So part of this, um, being more in touch with our inner state is more self-awareness. And this self-awareness means that we start to see ourselves more clearly. And as we see ourselves more clearly, we become more compassionate for that struggling human part of us that may be acted in behaviors that, you know, we don’t wanna continue in the future, but we can start to see when we were frantic, when we were desperate for approval, or we didn’t have the tools to deal with the, um, jealousy or the anger, whatever negative emotions arise, the dark emotions that arise. So the more we start to move through this, our bodies actually start to function better because everything is interrelated. Our hormones start to balance. We start to feel lighter. We’re not holding onto the same amount of guilt, the guilt that binds us to food addictions and food cravings.

The guilt that binds us to beating ourselves up when we’re not perfect. This is something I know much about. We just start to know that we really are this transcendent whole complete being just as we are. And so our ties to food naturally lessen and we start to appreciate truly the blessedness of natural foods grown in the earth. We start to really appreciate the freshness of flavors and colors, vegetables and fruit. And it’s not so sticky. It’s not so, um, serious food. It becomes a lot more useful to lose weight. And so this has been a big part of my journey. And one of the things I really think my life purpose is about is really teaching this whole life’s this holistic lifestyle in that as we align, as we meditate, as we go through the practices and exercises, some of which I share in the book, again, I just honestly from my heart, I just want you to grow and to to feel your best.

And that is why I wanna share them as we connect to who we are, it goes hand in hand with having a much easier time losing weight and permanently sustainably. And that has been my journey. I struggled so much with diet and frustration and the very mental heady part of calculating, am I eating too much? What am I going to eat later? Did I eat too many calories, too much fat? Whatever it was, instead of sinking into this place where, oh, like this is what I’ve been hungry for. This is the real soul connection. This is where real healing is. And then naturally, our relationship with food balances. And so whil else, we can very much have goals around our diet and our weight and eating. It starts to become more useful and more aligned.

#2. New Year’s Resolution: Finding a New Job, Growing Your Current Business or Growing Your Salary

So the second resolution that I wanna touch on is growing in our work. So in our career, this could be finding a new job. This could be growing in your current job, maybe if you’re an entrepreneur, growing the business, growing your salary, or growing into promotion, whatever it is. And so as we become more aligned on the inside, we naturally become more creative, more creative in our solutions and our problem solving. We come from this calmer, deep place where we become much better listeners. And listening is such a key part of business success because it means we’re not just trying to project our own egoic voice onto others. It’s very hard to hear others when we are trapped in our ego. Because what this means is we just, we skew reality. We think things are a certain way, we think people are trying to say something that they’re not.

Instead, when we’re from this quiet place, we drop into our heart, which we learn to do again, through our practices, through daily, especially morning meditation, through journaling, self-awareness, we start to heal and integrate the wounded parts of us. And this allows us to see more clearly as we see ourselves more clearly, we see others more clearly. And this means more connection in the workplace. This means more connection when you’re on an interview and you can really hear what is needed in that job. Now, what we think is needed, but we can respond and we can come up with more creative solutions. And it’s profound. So while we say, okay, I wanna have this, I wanna grow my salary by this much, if we are not shaping ourselves to be of more value in that company, of more value in the world in general, from this perspective of offering value in, in a, in a project or work or service, then it doesn’t really align. And so we, we aren’t getting really the long-term results that we’re looking for. So it really starts with us. We have that power to go inside and connect more to ourselves and to intuition. And this will profoundly shape our work in the world and our ways in which we are able to grow. And it’s really beautiful and powerful.

#3. New Year’s Resolution: Attracting Love

So now the third New Year’s resolution, which many people make is this is the year I’m going to find my mate. This is the year I’m going to find love. And that could be in partnership, it could be wanting to get married, or it could be maybe more deeper friendships or whatever it is. And so it’s the same thing. We say that’s what we want externally, but how are we working on ourselves When we align? What happens is this profound realization more and more that the love we have been seeking is inside of us. And really life becomes more about sharing love, sharing experiences, sharing any sort of resources this expansiveness. But what it does is it eliminates the franticness, the fear-based, the lack based energies that actually push potential partners away from us and friends away from us. Because people can intuit that they can feel it, whether they consciously realize it or not.

So we think, oh, what is this person trying to get from me? Or there’s this desperate energy, I’m not attracted to that. Instead, when we align inside of ourselves, when we align to our hearts, when we align to our truth, when we get more calm, more still more connected, we radiate out a certain frequency and we do become more magnetic. And so what happens is, instead of all this effort and running around, we start to become the source of love. So this is in the chapter in the book called You Are Love, which is about activating this love energy inside of you. Instead of waiting, thinking you’re gonna get it from someone else, someone’s going to give it to you. It’s this thing that we get or we have or we don’t have. It becomes this energy, this part of us that we instead start to connect to.

And so once we have it, we already have it, but we know rather it’s the knowing, it’s the realization that it’s in there, it’s this awakening to it. We again, just start to radiate out more of this very beautiful, powerful vibration. And that is what is attractive. That’s the real attraction. Instead of spending so much focus and energy on what we look like or nitpicking about our are, you know, makeup or what clothes we’re gonna wear on a date or when we go out or whatever, it’s okay to enjoy these things, but that shouldn’t be where our primary focus of our energy is. Instead it really should be about what am I giving off? What am I giving to the world? What is radiating out inside of me? And then in turn, we just feel so fulfilled and so aligned. We again are the source of love and we attract so many potential partners to us.

So this is a very different way of looking at New Year’s resolutions. And I’ll share with you that this is the first year that I don’t have this long list of all these things I wanna accomplish in the year. I have general ideas, I wanna grow Solluna. Of course, as always, I say this every year, but it’s not so specific. I know the more I line inside of me, which is my biggest goal, things will unfold as they’re meant to. Things will naturally grow and expand. So for me now, my biggest goals are aligning to my true self, to aligning my heart, all my chakras with spirit. May I speak from my heart, may my third eye open more to have a deeper, more expansive vision. May my will may money pour chakra be aligned to the will of spirit. And so my goals may, my goals always connect back to the greater good in my sacral chakra. My creative impulses and my creative ideas align and my mu muara chakra. May I feel the rootedness within myself so that I’m not projecting lack and insecurity out and trying to get it from outside of myself. And I know and trust that my outer world will continue to grow and develop into this more peace, more beauty, more creativity, more abundance as I align more inside of me. And so I urge you to think about this and how it applies to your goals. It’s okay to have those external goals of course, but to really integrate

Them with your inner goals, to get clear about what your values are, to sit, spend some time journaling and thinking about what actions and what blocks are there to me, really living my values, to really creating time and space. Goals for meditation, journaling, the practices I teach in the book, getting past fear, getting past over identifying with the ego so that we may truly allow our power and our love to radiate out.
